Hey Amy and Jacky, thanks for the comments. I actually already bought a suit on Fri. June 26th and just haven’t gotten around to posting about it yet and I went for a very brief swim in it yesterday. So far so good and I’m very excited about it. I’m going for a longer swim in it tomorrow morning. Will post more details soon.

I have had SUCH BAD LUCK with wetsuits! Or at least I did, until I finally broke down and bought my own when a great deal presented itself. You are not alone: Wetsuit manufacturers hate me – or, more specifically, my hips. One great tip I learned recently: Put a plastic shopping bag around your foot before you slide it into the leg of your wetsuit. Cuts down the wrestle-time by half.

I think trying and buying wetsuits must be the singular most humiliating experience in the world! Fortunately I’ve found a great place in Auckland who sized me up by sight, they didn’t have my size but got it sent up from Wellington to Rotorua and it was perfect!!! Hammered it all summer, Blue Seventy all the way. Of course, now that I’ve lost a bit of weight and changed shape significantly – bet I’m going to have to through it all again next summer!!!!
